Founded by 4 young women in 1993, we have developed a culture tested over time, able to support both single people and families. Our community lives "family-style", sharing the highs and lows of our lives in presence to each other.

Our home

We live in one big house in Hyde Park, on the edge of the University of Chicago. We rent from the 57th Street Meeting of Friends (Quakers), our landlords.

Diverse

Our members ages span several generations, and a variety of genders. We have come from Turkey, Ireland, Australia and Korea. We have worked as teachers, social workers, medicos, servers, writers, doctors, chaplains, students, nonprofit staff, photographers, actors, youth workers, IT managers.
