Sophia Community is an intentional community living in a lovely big house in Hyde Park, near the University of Chicago.
Founded by 4 young women in 1993, we have developed a culture tested over time, able to support both single people and families. Our community lives "family-style", sharing the highs and lows of our lives in presence to each other.
Our landlords are the Quakers, who use the house for their meetings. We manage a small guest business on their behalf.

Testimonials
I see so many people who are so isolated in their own little apartments, but I think that we've always lived in extended families in history and in other societies. One of our strong core values here is that we're present for each other, and that's important to me.
